Dive #32: 命の詩うた

海の日記念ということで、わたしなりの海のイメージを。

最初は "命のゆりかご" や "海のゆりかご"、"碧あおに抱いだかれて"、"静かな夢とき"、"碧い夢とき" などがタイトルの候補にありました。

ですが海の世界はゆりかごのような優しい世界じゃないし、"碧あおに抱いだかれて" はあまりに人間中心的過ぎて、生きと生けるものの世界を表すにはちょっと……

なのでこれらはないな、となりました。

また海の中は確かに存在する世界であって、夢の世界じゃない。陸上で暮らすわたしたちにとって夢のような世界ですし、わたしたちダイバーは、とても短い時間ですが、そのような夢のような時間を旅しています。

でもやっぱりそこは夢の世界じゃなくて、すぐ目の前の足元にある、たしかに存在する世界です。

わたしたちダイバーであれば、もちろんノンダイバーの人であってもダイバーにさえなってしまえば、手を伸ばしさえすれば実際に触れることもできて (なれべくなら触らないでください)、耳をすませば音を聞くこともできる世界です。しかも世界の 7 割をも占めてもいます。海は間違いなく存在している世界だし、夢はないな、となりました。

わたしは弱肉強食という、人が自分の都合で身勝手に作った言葉が嫌いです。生き物の世界を見てると、人が考えるような単純なヒエラルキーは存在しません。どこにも存在しない。

ただ命は命を食べることでしか生きられない、そういう厳しい世界です。もちろんわたしたち人間も他の生物同様に、命を食べることでしか生きることができないのですけれども。

世界はそのように厳しいものですが調和している。調和しているのです。なのでそれにふさわしいと私が考える詩うたという言葉を選びました。
